Elisabetta Bovina and Carlo Pastore, both trained at the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche in Faenza, founded Elica Studio in 1990. They have not set any disciplinary boundaries for themselves, creating projects, objects, and actions in ceramics, jewelry, textiles, fashion and costume, graphics, set design, and performance. They have also written and spoken as active critics of design and applied arts. Known nationally and internationally for their eclecticism and consistently high quality, they have participated in and been invited to prestigious exhibitions, both commercial and cultural, including the Salone del Mobile in Milan, “Maison et Objet” in Paris, and the official exhibition of the Committee Italy 150 "Artisans Tomorrow: The Future in the Hands," held in Turin in 2011 and dedicated to the excellence of Italy’s artistic crafts. Their artifacts are both self-produced and designed for other brands. Currently, they design for Arcolaio and Visionnaire and collaborate with the magazine “Ossigeno.”
