On a trip to Arizona, i was fascinated by the peculiar shape of the cactus plant amidst the red desert sand. I wanted to capture this beautifully barren landscape in a single design. This gave inspiration to the Gobi collection. Layers of steel are hammered by hand into the form of a cactus. Rich, earthly and random patterns are embossed on it's surface. The colours of the dessert are reflected in t's warm brown and copper tones, and the use glass mimics the mirage of water in the horizon. The Gobi - quirky but not spiky , part fantasy, sculpture, and furniture. No one piece is ever alike.
